The motivation behind Payton crawling....a cell phone!!!

Payton is on the move...

Our trip to California was great. We somehow picked the day Dallas got 1 foot of snow to fly out. Just a few speed bumps along the way; our Waco flight was cancelled, but our flight from Dallas was still scheduled. We drove to Dallas in ice and snow to find out our flight was delayed. Then we waited for almost 2 hours in the plane before taking off to be de-iced and then we flew for 3 hours. Greg and I were definitely in survival mode to keep Payton busy. Besides that we had a blast and it was great to see all of my family and friends. We welcome Brian to the family!!!

Since we have been back we also have a new accomplishment from Payton....Crawling forward!! Just a little late, but we are still very proud parents. She started with dragging the left leg so she could quickly sit up if she got tired. Now it is pretty much on all fours and I think we have kicked the backward crawling habit. She is loving to get into so much more...I believe we might have our hands full.

uh oh......

We had our first major boo-boo today. It is cold so I had a fire going and we were sitting in front of the fireplace. Payton is getting much more mobile and confident in her mobility....she started rocking back and forth and hit her head on the fireplace. Ouch!!! If you look closely above her left eye you can see the bruise starting (of course three days before my sisters wedding). So I did what every mom would do when their child gets hurt. I gave her some chocolate chip pound cake....her first cake ever :) She loved it of course!!!

I forgot to post something about Payton's 9 month check. She is 22.5 lbs and 28.5 inches long. The 75th percentile for height (surprising) and the 95th percentile for weight (not so surprising). No shots this time!!!
